Spite is a Diablo-like ARPG. Become Ohtili the Cheiftain of the Moon Clan, kill the monsters that have invaded your land, upgrade your skills and ascend the temple and claim your revenge!

MY MAIN CONTRIBUTON TO THIS GAME

  • Destruction (Houdini simulated destruction baked as animation)

Character and Enemy FX


There is a lot of focus on abilites and attacks when playing an ARPG so its important for the characters to have cool looking effects that will make the player feel awesome when playing. I created all the attacks for the player.

Houdini Navmesh fixer


We didn't have a way to create or generate the navmesh for our game. UE4 was our level editor but we could not export the navmesh, so we had to export the entire level as a fbx and then turn it into a navmesh in Houdini.


1. This is the mesh I get from UE4 that I need to turn into a usable navmesh.


2-3. I seperating the walls from the floor by checking normal directions.


4. I turn the walls into a volume and then bool subtract with the floor to create holes where the walls and other objects are.


5.I remove all meshes that are not attatched to the floor.


6. I remesh the floor to triangulate it.


7. I then reduce the amount of triangles to make it cheaper.
